Standard Poodles – Results of MHC (DLA Class II) Testing

To date (March 2012) 17 haplotypes have been found in Standard Poodles. Some of these also occur in miniature and/or toy Poodles.  Thirty haplotypes have been found in all varieties of Poodle.

Each dog inherits two haplotypes – one from the sire, one from the dam.

To date, haplotypes #27 and 28 in the table have been found only in UK Standards.

Haplotype #1 is by far the most common.  Haplotype #4 occurs in higher frequency in reds & apricots.
